The family of 25-year-old Lucksyon Phiri, popularly known as Ananiah, is appealing for public assistance after he went missing in early February 2026 from Lusaka’s Kabanana Fumbelo area and has not returned home for about seven months.
His family says Ananiah would sometimes leave home for up to a week before returning, but this time he has not been seen since, despite extensive searches by relatives and friends who say he was usually found around the local market.
The matter was reported at Chipwalu Police Post about three months after he went missing, as the family initially hoped he would return, while searches at UTH and Chipata Level One mortuaries have also yielded no results according to his sister Rebecca Phiri.
Ananiah, who completed school at Kabana Secondary School and was doing hair-barbing business with plans to venture into catering, is described as a quiet and skilled young man, and his mother Veronica Phirir is appealing to anyone who may have seen him to contact the family or police; he is about 1.7 metres tall, and the family hopes he is safe and will return home.
Diamond TV has also engaged the Zambia Police Service awaiting feedback.
