The second batch of eight players from the Zambia Women’s National Volleyball Team has left for Nairobi, Kenya, ahead of the 2026 African Women’s Volleyball Nations Championship.
The eight players will join the first batch of six athletes and the Zambia Volleyball Association delegation, who arrived in Nairobi yesterday, bringing the Zambian contingent to the tournament.
The 14-member squad, led by head coach Arnold Simulezi, will compete against 15 other African nations at the continental championship, which runs from August 25 to September 5.
Zambia is targeting victories at the tournament, while also eyeing the competition’s qualification pathway to the 2027 FIVB Women’s Volleyball World Championship and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.
