PeP TO DEAL WITH THOSE INVOLVED IN ALTERING PARTY RECORDS

.

Patriots for Economic Progress (PeP) Presidential Candidate Chanda Katotobwe says government officials allegedly involved in altering the party’s records to block its participation in the 2026 elections will be held accountable at the right time.

Mr. Katotobwe has described the alleged changes to PeP’s records at the Registrar of Societies as “pure criminality,” accusing specific officials within government of orchestrating a scheme to prevent the party from filing presidential and parliamentary nominations.

He has further claimed that the alleged alterations were reversed once the objective of disqualifying the party had been achieved.

Mr. Katotobwe has also argued that PeP had candidates ready to contest in all 15 constituencies where UPND candidates reportedly went unopposed.

He says the party’s failure to file nominations, which he attributed to the disputed records used by the Electoral Commission of Zambia, unfairly denied voters a choice to choose the right leaders.

.

He has since hinted that the party will in due cause announce the next step of action regarding the matter.

Meanwhile PeP running mate Sean Tembo has challenged the Permanent Secretary in the ministry of Home Affairs and Internal Security Dickson Matembo to name who changed altered the documents at the Registrar of Society rather than making blank statement that do not address the matter at hand.

Mr. Tembo has also urged citizens to stop making fun of such a serious matter but rather hold those responsible accountable.
