.

Patriotic Front faction Secretary General Raphael Nakacinda is expected to know his fate today when the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court delivers judgment in his seditious practices case.

Mr. Nakacinda is accused of alleging on social media that President Hakainde Hichilema directed the Zambia Police, the Drug Enforcement Commission and the Anti-Corruption Commission to raid former President Edgar Lungu’s Chifwema residence.

If convicted, Mr. Nakacinda faces a sentence of up to seven years imprisonment, a fine, or both under the Penal Code for a first offence of seditious practices.

He is already serving an 18 month prison sentence for defamation of the President and also has an espionage case before the High Court.
