BODY OF A DRIVER MURDERED IN HANJALIKA MOVED TO LUSAKA, AS TRADITIONAL LEADER CALLS FOR JUSTICE

The body of 31-year-old Stephen Sakala, a driver who was allegedly murdered in Hanjalika of Southern Province has been transported to Lusaka, where he is expected to be buried this Friday.
As the family prepares to lay him to rest, Chief Hanjalika of the Tonga-speaking people has appealed to the Zambia Police Service to expedite investigations and bring those responsible for the killing to justice.
The traditional leader has described the incident as barbaric, alleging that the deceased’s throat was slit.
Chief Hanjalika has warned that political violence would not be tolerated in his chiefdom.
He says before the start of the campaign period, he met all aspiring candidates and urged them to conduct peaceful campaigns free from violence.
Meanwhile, residents of Hanjalika have also condemned the killing and appealed to police to speed up investigations and ensure that those responsible are arrested and prosecuted.
The family of the late Stephen Sakala declined to comment when approached by the media.
