PAUL KABUSWE SEEKS FRESH ELECTION

.

Former Mines Minister and UPND parliamentary candidate for Chililabombwe, Paul Kabuswe, wants the High Court to nullify Nsofwa Lupele’s election as Member of Parliament for Chililabombwe Constituency and order a fresh election.

Mr. Kabuswe, who has petitioned Mr. Lupele and the Electoral Commission of Zambia, alleges that the August 13 parliamentary election was marred by illegal campaigning, character assassination, voter bribery, threats, violence and other irregularities that affected the outcome.

He is also challenging the results declared on August 14, 2026, in which Mr. Lupele polled 10,920 votes against Mr. Kabuswe’s 8,986.

Mr. Kabuswe wants the result declared null and void and the Electoral Commission of Zambia ordered to conduct a fresh election in Chililabombwe.
