Residents of Lusaka’s Kabwata Township have expressed mixed feelings over reduced inflation.

Richard Nawa told Diamond News that the reduction is only good on paper as prices of basic commodities is still high, while John Banda, who operates a barbershop says making ends meet has become a challenge as essential food commodities such as sugar are expensive.

On January 26, 2023, the Zambia Statistics Agency announced a 2.1 percent drop in the overall monthly inflation for January 2023 to 9.4 percent from 9.9 percent.
