Government has warned that public officials who frustrate the implementation of government programmes will be removed as it moves to accelerate service delivery over the next five years.
Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development Permanent Secretary Nicholas Phiri says despite the political will demonstrated by government, the pace at which government structures and cooperatives are operating has not matched the energy and expectations of the people.
Speaking in Kabwe during a courtesy call on Central Province Permanent Secretary Dr. Milner Mwanakampwe, Mr. Phiri says there is need to address the rigidity and other impediments slowing down the implementation of government programmes.
He has warned that any official found to be an impediment to service delivery will be removed, stressing that government will do everything within its power and in line with the law to set the right tone and ensure that programmes move faster in the next five years.
