The Lusaka Magistrates’ Court has ordered former Chilubi Member of Parliament Mulenga Fube, one of Binwell Mpundu’s sureties, to pay a K100,000 bail bond or serve six months in prison following the former Nkana MP’s continued failure to appear in court.
Mr. Fube, told Magistrate Webster Milumbe that Mr. Mpundu had informed him that he had written to the Inspector General of Police seeking security over alleged threats from State agents.
The court ordered Mr. Fube to pay the bond whenever he raises the money, while the second surety, Christopher Kang’ombe, has been given until November 23, 2026, to explain Mr. Mpundu’s absence.
