The Football Association of Zambia has appointed George Lwandamina as interim head coach of the Zambia Senior Men’s National Football Team.
The development comes after FAZ relieved Moses Sichone and Perry Mutapa of their duties as head coach and assistant coach respectively, after Zambia’s early exit at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations where the team was eliminated at the group stage.
Lwandamina, who is currently head coach of Nchanga Rangers, will be assisted by Oswald Mutapa, while the rest of the technical bench remains unchanged.
In a statement, FAZ Acting Deputy General Secretary Iva Lengwe said the changes are aimed at improving efficiency and strengthening the national team’s performance ahead of upcoming assignments.
Lwandamina, who previously coached Chipolopolo between 2015 and 2016 before making way for Wedson Nyirenda, will be expected to immediately begin preparations for the Four-Nation Tournament scheduled for March 23 to 31 in Francistown.
