KENNEDY KAMBA DROPS HABEAS CORPUS CASE

.

Businessman and National Reconciliation Party for Unity and Prosperity member Kennedy Kamba has discontinued his High Court application in which he was seeking his release from police custody.

The notice of discontinuance, filed through his lawyers at Aongola and Company Legal Practitioners, states that Mr. Kamba has wholly discontinued the proceedings against the Attorney General with immediate effect.

Mr. Kamba had petitioned the Lusaka High Court for a writ of habeas corpus, arguing that he had been unlawfully detained at Ibex Hill Police Station since his arrest at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport on 27 July without being charged or brought before a court.
