PETROL HITS K30.58 AS ERB ADJUSTS PUMP PRICES

The Energy Regulation Board (ERB) has announced an upward adjustment in the pump prices of Diesel, Petrol, Kerosene and Jet A-1 for the month of October 2025.

According to the ERB, the revision follows movements in international oil prices and the depreciation of the Kwacha against the United States Dollar during the review period.

Diesel has been increased from 25.02 Kwacha per litre to 26.20Kwacha, reflecting a rise of 1.18 Kwacha or 4.72 percent.

Petrol has gone up from 29.18Kwacha to 30.58 Kwacha per litre, representing a rise of 1.40 Kwacha or 4.80 percent. The price of Kerosene has increased from 23.64 Kwacha to 24.78 Kwacha per litre, marking a change of 1.14 Kwacha or 4.82 percent. Jet A-1 has risen from 25.83 Kwacha to 27.11 Kwacha per litre, up by 1.28 Kwacha or 4.96 percent.

ERB Board Chairperson James Banda has noted that the international oil price of Diesel increased by 0.70 percent from USD84.26 per barrel to USD84.85 per barrel, Petrol by 2.56 percent from USD74.32 per barrel to USD76.22 per barrel, while Kerosene and Jet A-1 rose by 1.16 percent from USD82.04 per barrel to USD82.99 per barrel.

Meanwhile, Posted Airfield Prices (PAP) at international airports have also been adjusted, with Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (Lusaka) and Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport (Ndola) now at 27.11 Kwacha per litre, Mfuwe International Airport at 30.35 Kwacha , and Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula International Airport (Livingstone) at 27.92 Kwacha .

The ERB has stated that the combined effect of exchange rate depreciation and international oil price movements influenced the decision to adjust the October 2025 domestic fuel pump prices.
