Two university students, twin sisters Blessings Kaonga and Gift Kaonga, are facing trial over allegations that they trafficked in 26 marijuana-laced cupcakes in Lusaka.

The sisters, both aged 20 and students at the University of Lusaka, are accused of trafficking in psychotropic substances without lawful authority on September 25, 2026.

According to the charge before the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court, the cupcakes weighed 520.52 grams and contained cannabis with a THC concentration of 0.72 percent, exceeding the prescribed limit of 0.3 percent.
