HH ACKNOWLEDGES FLAWS IN UPND ADOPTION PROCESS, CALLS FOR UNITY AND SUPPORT FOR DOPTED CANDIDATES

Republican President Hakainde Hichilema has acknowledged shortcomings in the ruling UPND’s adoption process, admitting that the exercise contributed to internal divisions within the party.
Speaking to party officials, structures, and supporters in Choma, President Hichilema has alled on members and citizens to rally behind the party’s adopted candidates, stressing the need for unity ahead of the elections.
The Head of State has expressed regret over the confusion that characterized the adoption process, particularly the issuance of additional adoption certificates to some candidates, a development that sparked disputes in several areas.
President Hichilema has appealed to party members to put differences aside and support all duly adopted candidates, saying collective support is essential for effective leadership and the continued implementation of the government’s development agenda.
On the economy, the President has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to maintaining stability and improving the cost of living, assuring citizens that mealie-meal prices are expected to decline significantly, citing projections of a bumper maize harvest higher than last year’s.
