
Airtel Zambia has achieved a landmark US$ 1 billion market capitalisation, up from US$182 million in 2024, marking a significant milestone in the company’s growth journey.
Airtel Zambia Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Hussam Baday says the achievement is as a result of the trust and confidence that millions of Zambians have placed in the brand.
Mr. Baday says the achievement belongs to customers whose continued support and belief have driven the company’s growth.
Speaking during a bell-ringing ceremony In Lusaka, Ministry of Science and Technology Permanent Secretary, Brilliant Habeenzu says Airtel Zambia’s growth is expected to contribute to economic expansion and create quality employment opportunities.
Meanwhile, Lusaka Securities Exchange (LuSE) Head of Legal, Namunyuka Jere, says Airtel is the fourth company in the history of the exchange to attain a market capitalisation of US$ 1 billion.
