POLICE IN KAFUE APPREHENDS MAN DISGUISING AS MENTALLY ILL FOR ALLEGED SEXUAL ABUSE OF SEVERAL SCHOOL GIRLS

Residents of Mtendere Compound in Kafue have apprehended a man pretending to be mentally unstable on allegations that he built a ramshackle shelter near the railway line where he allegedly has been abusing girls between the age of 5 and above ages.According to an informant, a woman who sells near the railway line had repeatedly noticed young girls entering the makeshift shelter and later emerging after being given money by the suspect.Angered by the reports, community members set the structure on fire and dragged the man to the police, who immediately arrested him. Upon searching the shelter, police reportedly discovered bullets, suspected graveyard materials, and foreign motor vehicle number plates.Residents living near the structure confirmed that on several occasions, they had seen different types of expensive vehicles, mostly bearing foreign registration plates, parked near the shack late at night.Public Relations Officer Godfrey Chilabi has confirmed to Diamond News that brief facts are that on the material date, the reporter was walking past the suspect’s makeshift shelter after knocking off from work when he saw the victim entering the structure. He became suspicious and decided to check inside, where he allegedly found the suspect having carnal knowledge of the minor. The suspect reportedly stopped upon being interrupted.The reporter then interviewed the victim aged 12, who revealed that it was her second encounter with the suspect, the first having occurred on November 23, 2025. She further stated that she had been introduced to the suspect by her friends, who had also been frequenting the place.The suspect was subsequently taken to the police station and detained, while the victim 12 year old girl was issued with a medical report form for further examination.
