
Zambia annual inflation rate has slowed down to 11.9 percent in October 2025 from 12.3 percent recorded last month.
ZAMSTATS Acting Statistician General Sheila Mudenda has attributed the reduction to price movements in both food and non food items.
This means that on average, prices of goods and services increased by 11.7 percent between October 2024 and October 2025.
Ms. Mudenda says food inflation rate slowed down to 14.1 percent this month compared to 14.6 percent last month.
she says the movement has been noted to food items such as Cereals, Fish, Frozen and live chicken as well as Offals.
The Statistician general also says non-food inflation also reduced to 8.7 percent compared to 9.0 percent in September 2025 mainly attributed to price movements in prices of non-food items such as Glassware, tableware and household utensils, Non durable household goods, Hair plaiting, Ladies Shampoo and set; and Purchase of vehicles.
