The African Youth SDGs Summit is a pan-African forum that connects and facilitates learning amongst the Youth in Africa about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and to empower them to actively contribute to its implementation, monitoring, and accountability.

Launched by Youth Advocates Ghana (YAG) with support from UNDP Ghana, UNFPA and other local and international organizations, the summit has witnessed consistent growth of interest and importance since its inception in 2017 among youth and youth-related organizations, civil society, development partners, the UN System, state actors, policymakers, local governments, and the private sector in Africa. The Summit has evolved to become an important multi-stakeholder platform with a focus on young people and their roles in achieving SDG Targets.

Zambia has been announced as the Host for the 5th edition of the African Youth SDGs summit to be held next year in Lusaka.

As evidenced by its various four other summits held in various African countries with the last one being held in Ethiopia, over 10,000 local and international youth delegates are expected to attend the fifth edition.
