The Catholic Church has consecrated Gabriel Phiri as auxillary Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Chipata District.
President Hakainde Hichilema and opposition political leaders are in attendance at the ceremony held at St. Anne’s Cathedral parish in the city.
Patriotic Front-PF’s Given Lubinda, Nickson Chilangwa and Brian Mundubile are some of the prominent figures spotted in a packed worship center.
Others present are traditional leaders Kalonga Gawa Undi and and Paramount Chief Mpezeni.
