Employees at Petroda Filling Stations across Lusaka have downed tools demanding better conditions of service.

The employees accuse the company of flouting labor laws among them underpayment of salaries, failure to grant leave days and provide protective clothing.

One of the workers Evans Simasiku claims on several occasions their grievances have been reported to the labour office but there has been an alleged underhand impediment on th matter.

Mr. Siamasiku adds that the company has been allegedly deducting a 30 Kwacha fee for membership to a nonexistent union.

In a bid to resolve the matter company Human Resource Manager Mr. Joseph Banda who is believed to belong to a named union has assured the unhappy employees that concerns will be addressed among them an increment of salaries in August this year.
