TONSE ALLIANCE DENIES RUSSIA TRAINING WAS FOR ELECTION DISRUPTION

.

The Tonse Alliance has rejected allegations that three of its security personnel detained after returning from Russia were trained to disrupt Zambia’s elections or engage in treasonous activities.

Speaking through NRPUP Presidential Candidate spokesperson George Chisanga, the alliance says Victor Muziamba, Dixon Tembo and Gideon Kalopa travelled to Russia for VVIP security training after alleged threats against Tonse Alliance presidential candidate Brian Mundubile and his running mate Makebi Zulu during the campaign period.

Mr Chisanga has accused authorities of keeping the three men incommunicado and says they have not been given access to lawyers, family members or the courts.

He is now appealing to President Hakainde Hichilema to allow the matter to be investigated professionally and for any allegations against the three to be tested before the courts of law.

He maintains that the men’s training was intended to enhance the security of its leadership and not to disrupt the electoral process.
