Independent candidate Daniel Daka has withdrawn from the Mandevu parliamentary by-election, citing financial challenges and personal reasons.
In a telephone interview with Diamond News, Mr Daka confirmed his decision, but says the withdrawal did not mean he was abandoning politics.
He says he will remain active in community affairs and continue advocating for residents to receive their fair share of development.
Mr Daka has pledged to contribute to the community in ways he can manage, despite his decision to leave the parliamentary race.
His decison follows FDD’s candidates withdrawal Daniel Chisenga who cited intimidation and threats to his family.
