Member of Parliament representing persons with disabilities, Francis Kope, says he will use his position to amplify the voices of people with disabilities and ensure their concerns are addressed through policy and legislation.
Mr Kope says he has started engaging persons with disabilities across the country to better understand their challenges and represent their interests effectively in Parliament.
He says the situation has changed following the introduction of Mixed Member Proportional Representation seats for persons with disabilities, which has provided direct representation in the National Assembly.
Mr Kope has also called on other MPs representing the category to work together to promote equal access to employment and greater participation in national development.
He was speaking when he met persons with disabilities in Lusaka.
