Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has congratulated President Hakainde Hichilema on his re-election, describing the result as a reflection of Zambians’ confidence in his leadership and their desire for continued democratic development.
In a congratulatory message President Zelenskyy said Ukraine values its friendly relations with Zambia and appreciates Lusaka’s support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity in line with the United Nations Charter and international law.
He further expressed Ukraine’s readiness to deepen bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest and within international organisations, while extending an invitation to President Hichilema to visit Ukraine.
President Zelenskyy also wished the Zambian Head of State good health and success in his duties, and the people of Zambia peace, harmony and prosperity.
