The Zambia Police Service in Lusaka has apprehended a 31-year-old man of Mtendere Compound in connection with the alleged murder of his neighbour, Musaba Siluta, in the township’s C Section.
Police Public Relations Officer Godfrey Chilabi says preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect, identified as Lingson Phiri, allegedly forced his way into the deceased’s bedroom while armed with a knife before attacking him.
Meanwhile, family members have described the incident as tragic and heartbreaking, noting that the deceased has left behind a two-year-old child.
The family has since appealed to law enforcement agencies to ensure justice is served, alleging that the suspect had longstanding differences with the deceased and his wife.
Police investigations into the matter are ongoing.
