Proceedings against suspended Director of Public Prosecution, Lilian Siyunyi have continued before the Judicial Complaints Commission in court.

Ms. Siyunyi is accused of gross misconduct and incompetence over how she handled the matter involving the seized MMD vehicles and alleged interference with the Drug Enforcement Commission over the re-arrest of former KCM liquidator, Milingo Lungu.

Meanwhile, Governance Expert, McDonald Chipenzi says there’s need to amend the constitution so that the Director of Public Prosecution is not given absolute power to decide which cases to prosecute.

Mr. Chipenzi notes that previous DPPs in Zambia faced similar accusations due to the law which gives the office the power.
