And Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Trade Permanent Secretary for Investment and Industrialisation, Crusivia Hichikumba says Finland’s strengths in technology, education systems, and clean energy solutions, combined with Zambia’s resource base, youthful population, and strategic position in Southern Africa, present a unique opportunity to create mutually beneficial economic linkages for SMEs, stimulating job creation and industrial development in Zambia, and open new markets and opportunities for Finnish businesses.
And Zambia Development Agency Director General Albert Halwampa during a panel discussion says that government is seeking investors for the mining and energy sectors, as it has secured land for the construction of a new multi-facility economic zone to help grow the sectors.
Mr. Halwampa says the country needs more investors in the energy sector to produce 6,000 megawatts of power to support the country’s vision of producing three million metric tonnes of copper within five years.
