Works to upgrade Kasama Airport have resumed after years of stagnation.
The project started in 2014 with an initial funding of K144 million and was scheduled to be completed in 2017.
Ministry of Transport and logistics (MTL) acting Director Road and Rail Transport, Emmanuel Sampa says government has divided the remaining works in two lots which is the runway and the earth works at total cost of K211 million.
Mr. Sampa told Diamond news that a new completion date of December 31, 2022 has been set.
