The Energy Regulation Board (ERB) has refuted media reports alleging that Zambia is facing a national diesel crisis, assuring the public that fuel stocks are stable and supply remains uninterrupted.
In a statement , ERB Public Relations Manager Namukolo Kasumpa says national diesel reserves as of 3 December 2025 stood at 15.02 million litres at Ndola Fuel Depot and 10.42 million litres at the Kigamboni Tank Farm in Tanzania, enough to meet daily national consumption.
Ms. Kasumpa has attributed isolated fuel shortages reported in some areas to logistical challenges, including transport delays, supply scheduling issues, and depot-level congestion, rather than a nationwide supply problem.
She has added that disruptions in certain localities were being addressed promptly in collaboration with fuel suppliers to restore normal supply patterns and ensure market stability.
