ZAMSTATS ANNOUNCES DROP IN NOVEMBER INFLATION TO 10.9 %

.

The Zambia Statistics Agency (ZamStats) has announced that the country’s annual inflation for November 2025 has slowed to 10.9 percent, down from 11.9 percent recorded in October.

Acting Statistician General Sheila Mudenda revealed the figures during the dissemination of the November Monthly Bulletin, noting that the reduction was mainly driven by easing price movements in non-food items.

According to the bulletin, this means that on average, prices of goods and services increased by 10.9 percent between November 2024 and November 2025.

The report also indicates that annual food inflation decreased to 13.9 percent from 14.1 percent recorded in October, reflecting reduced price pressures in cereals such as breakfast mealie meal, roller meal, maize grain, samp and wheat flour, as well as selected fruits and vegetables including pineapples, watermelons, avocados, sweet potato leaves, tomatoes and onions.

Meanwhile, annual non-food inflation declined to 6.6 percent, down from 8.7 percent in October, largely due to lower price movements in fuels, air passenger transport, and purchases of vehicles and paraffin.
