Six people have survived a road traffic accident after the truck they were in overturned after failing to navigate through a stretch along the Great North Road in Mpika.
Onlookers who were found at the scene have expressed concern over the bad state of the road.
Musanta Village Headwoman Elizabeth Musanta says the Mukontoka turn-off has become a death trap to road users adding that thieves also take advantage and rob motorists of their valuables due to the slow pace at which vehicles move.
Justine Mulenga, a resident of Mukontoka wonders why authorities take too long to remove trucks that are involved in accidents from the road.
Another resident who recounts the 2016 September 17 road traffic accident that claimed 25 lives along the same road has called on government to consider constructing a dual carriage way to prevent loss of lives.
