The Zambia U20 national team has been booted out of the ongoing 2023 TotalEnergies U20 AFCON tournament after losing 2-1 to Tunisia.

Tunisia shot first blood before the breakthrough by Jebral Othman in the 30th minute who headed from a well worked out corner.

Zambia restored parity 12 minutes after the break through with Kingstone Mutandwa but within a minute, Tunisia took the lead through Mohamed Dhaoui with a beautifully taken strike from the edge of the 18 yard area.

Tunisia join the Gambia and Benin in the quarterfinals while Zambia takes the next flight back home following their group stage elimination.

The 2017 AFCON champions have not impressed in their three group games but tonight’s display was much better then the previous two first games.
