Five men who were severely burnt when a fuel tanker exploded on Lusaka’s Mungwi Road last Saturday are still nursing wounds in hospital.

University Teaching Hospital Public Relations Manager Natalie Mashikolo has told Diamond Media that one is in critical condition, while four are responding well to treatment.

The victims whose names have been withheld suffered between eight to 30 percent degree burns.

The five were burnt when a fuel tanker truck carrying 45,000 litres of Petrol which was destined for Vivo Energy in Mungwi road caught fire, they are reported to have been among people that had allegedly thronged the truck to siphon fuel.
