The Lusaka Magistrates Court has committed former Zambia Security Intelligence Service Director General Xavier Chungu to the High Court for trial.
Chungu, 73, is facing charges of seditious practices, communication of certain information, and publication or disclosure of information to unauthorized persons.
The committal followed prosecutors informing the court that the Director of Public Prosecutions has finally issued a committal certificate.
The charges stem from a podcast interview recorded in Lusaka on May 24, 2026.
Chungu remains in custody, as he awaits for the commencement of trial.
