A rock fall at Chongwe’s Sino Copper Mine has claimed three lives, leaving two people injured.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that the victims were hit by a rock while working underground early Thursday morning.

Mine Manager Chilufya Mwale says operations have since been suspended pending investigations.

And a Mine expert from the Ministry of Mines, Lubinda Kamutumwa has told Diamond News that investigations will be conducted on Friday, January 20, 2023.

Police have since opened an inquiry file in the matter.
