SENIOR CHIEF CAUTIONS PARTIES OVER CANDIDATE IMPOSITION

.

Senior Chief Musokotwane of Kazungula District, Southern Zambia has cautioned political parties against imposing unpopular candidates on the electorates.

The traditional leader warns that imposing candidates who lack public support has the potential to create divisions not only within political parties but also within regions.

Senior Chief Musokotwane further stressed the importance of following due process during adoption procedures, stating that transparency is necessary to avoid corruption and other irregularities in the selection process.

His remarks come amid concerns surrounding the adoption process in the ruling United Party for National Development, where the party is yet to announce candidates for local government and parliamentary elections.

Meanwhile, the ruling party has cautioned its members, particularly aspiring candidates, against engaging in unauthorized adoption procedures.
