The Football Association of Zambia has announced that Provincial League winners will now receive prize money of K100,000 for their victory.
This decision comes after the association struck a partnership deal worth K1.5 million, aimed at commercializing the National Division 1 league play-offs.
FAZ President, Andrew Kamanga says this initiative aligns with the league’s decentralization efforts, separating the sponsorship aspect of the leagues from the FA.
Kamanga adds that the prize money is intended to cover various expenses, including transportation and accommodation, during the Division 1 league playoffs for Provincial League winners.
Meanwhile, FAZ Communications Manager, Sydney Mungala has confirmed that CAF has conditionally approved Zambia to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifier against Congo Brazzaville and the 2024 WAFCON qualifiers against Angola at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in November, 2023.
