Southern Province Minister, Credo Nanjuwa has revealed that a one-year-old baby has been admitted to Livingstone Hospital for Anthrax after consuming suspected buffalo meat.

Speaking during a press briefing in Lusaka, Mr. Nanjuwa also disclosed that a truckload of meat bound for Lusaka was intercepted on Monday last week.  

He adds that over 90,000 vaccines have been provided to Southern Province to contain the outbreak of anthrax as the province has the highest number of cases. 

Mr. Nanjuwa who is also UPND Chairperson for Livestock and Fisheries has called on all the party structures countrywide to sensitise the people on preventive measures of anthrax.
