Yango Drivers in Lusaka have called on the online car hailing company to adopt cost reflective prices by removing bonuses and promo codes on the rides.


One of the affected drivers, Kelvin Mwansa, says his monthly income has reduced because the company has been slashing down fares per Kilometre.


Another driver, Pansi Jere says it has become difficult for the drivers to look for alternative applications due to the alleged monopoly of the firm on the market.


Meanwhile, in a statement availed to Diamond News, Yango Zambia Management says it is aware of concerns raised by the aggrieved drivers and is working tirelessly to address them.
Management has therefore urged the drivers to follow prescribed channels of communication to air their grievances as opposed to suspending operations.


On Monday, several unhappy taxi drivers staged a protest demanding that prolonged issues in the service are dealt failure to which they will paralyze their system, and on Tuesday a similar act was done amid honking in motorized conveys.
