The Patriotic Front have appealed to the police the decision not to allow them to hold a public rally.

The letter addressed to the Ministry of Home Affairs suggests that the officer who sited security concerns did not give them an alternative date when the police would be in position to provide security.

PF Information and Publicity Chairperson, Raphael Nakacinda, says they have given the Ministry five days to respond to their appeal failure to which they are going ahead with the rally on 26th August 2023.

He says should the police fail to provide security, the party will engage the necessary security and marshals to superintend over the event.

The Ministry of Home Affairs and Internal Security has confirmed receiving the letter.
