Police in Lusaka are investigating a manager at Liquid Logic Zambia Limited over alleged cyber-related offences involving the unlawful acquisition of company data.
The suspect, identified as Elisha Mvunga, is an Administration Manager at Liquid Logic Zambia Limited, a company contracted by Zambian Breweries.
According to police, Mr. Mvunga is alleged to have illegally obtained data belonging to Evans Chanda and his company, Coldlane Refrigeration Company.
Police Public Relations Officer Godfrey Chilabi told Diamond News that Mr. Mvunga has been charged with one count of Illegal Acquisition of Data, contrary to Section 7 of the Cyber Crimes Act No. 4 of 2025 of the Laws of Zambia.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect allegedly hacked into both the company and personal email accounts of the complainants to gain unauthorised access to the data.
The suspect is currently awaiting a court appearance.
