Copper Queens and Madrid striker, Racheal Kundananji, has won the GOAL50 Award in the women’s football.
By doing so she becomes the first African player to win the coveted award, with Asisat Oshoala who was recently named CAF Women’s Player of the year coming second and Colombian Linda Caicedo in third.
In the men’s category, Inter Miami and Argentina star, Lionel Messi, who led his country to victory in the World Cup in Qatar has claimed the award.
Erling Haaland has come second after his historic hat-trick with Manchester City, and behind him is Jude Bellingham who plays for Real Madrid and England.
Goal 50 is an annual award presented by Goal which ranks the 50 best footballers in the world over the previous 12 months.
For 2019, the Goal 50 was split into the top 25 footballers in the men’s game and the top 25 footballers in the women’s game.
