A lawyer representing suspended High Court Judge, Wilfred Muma, says the suspension of his client by President Hakainde Hichilema has no basis.
In an interview with Diamond News, James Mataliro says this is because Justice Muma has never appeared before the Judicial Complaints Commission (JCC) for any disciplinary offence.
Mr. Mataliro also says there has also never been any process for his client to appear before the commission adding that there has also never been any communication.
On Friday, President Hichilema suspended Judge Muma with immediate effect.
In a statement, State House Chief Communications Specialist Clayson Hamasaka revealed that the suspension follows recommendations by the Judicial Complaints Commission (JCC).
