Chiefs in Kazungula District, Southern Zambia have commended the government for the early distribution of farming inputs for the 2023/2024 farming season.

Senior Headman Josesph Mushabati who represented the traditional leaders at the flagging off ceremony says early distribution will help farmers plan effectively for the planting season.

The traditional leaders have pledged to ensure that the inputs reach the intended beneficiaries.

The inputs will benefit over 14,000 farmers in Kazungula District who are on the government-supported FISP program.

Kazungula District Commissioner Elias Siamibila has warned against pilferage of inputs.

Meanwhile, Agricultural experts have cautioned farmers to monitor the rainfall forecast as they embark on planting.
