Operators at Chinsali Bus Station have gone a month without a toilet following its closure due to sewer blockage.

Davy Mukofyo states that he is forced to trek into the market toilet to ease himself.

He alleges that most operators and passengers use the toilet backyard to ease themselves because of the lack of a functioning toilet at the station.

He is worried that one month is too long a time for people to operate without a toilet, especially with the outbreak of Cholera in the country.

And Nkakula Ward Councilor Kelvin Lupiya acknowledges that the situation that has persisted for a long time needs agent attention.

The Civic Leader says the District Commissioner and Provincial Local government officials have assured him that a contractor will be on site by Monday February 12 to commence works on the public lavatory.

The poor and unhygienic state of the toilet is evidenced from the strong unpleasant stench coming from the facility.
