KAMANGA’S UNOPPOSED WIN NULLIFIED, FOUR JOIN FAZ PRESIDENTIAL RACE AFTER SUCCESSFUL APPEALS

Four Presidential candidates have joined the race after their appeals of nomination, which were deemed invalid, were successful, bringing the total number of Presidential candidates to five, including incumbent President Andrew Kamanga.
The candidates include Keith Mweemba, Francis Hafwiti, Keith Mweemba Adrian Kashala and Emmanuel Munaile.
The electoral committee has since nullified the pronouncement of Andrew Kamanga has duly elected President for the period between 2025 and 2029, made after announcing that he was the only eligible candidate on 17th February, 2025.
Presidential candidates whose appeals were dismissed include Godfrey Chikumbi, Mumbo Lombe and Alex Njobvu.
Meanwhile, Sports Minister Elvis Nkandu has confirmed that the National Sports Council of Zambia has granted FAZ permission to hold its elections on March 29, extending the process beyond the current executive’s tenure, which is set to end on February 28.
