The Ministry of Education Education has closed Kapiri Girls Technical Secondary School in Kapriri Mposhi of Central Province.
This follows another report of a third fire at the same school, since Sunday 14th May 2023.
Education Minister Douglas Syakalima says the closure is meant to relieve stress on learners and parents over the recurring incidents.
Mr. Syakalima adds by issuing a strong warning to any person who will be found to be behind the fires and the law will be applied accordingly.
The minister has since assured parents and management at the school, that police is actively investigating the matter to establish the cause.
The first fire was reported last Sunday and 24 hours later another happened in a dormitory, that triggered panic among pupils and staff.
Now the third ordeal has fueled speculation that alleged arson by unknown people may be the cause at the renowned regional girls’ school of excellence.
