The Zambia Police Service has arrested a man in Lusaka for allegedly having carnal knowledge of his 18-year-old daughter on several occasions.
Police Public Relations Officer Godfrey Chilabi says the suspect is being investigated for alleged incest, contrary to Section 159 of the Penal Code, Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.
Mr Chilabi says the arrest follows a video that circulated on social media on September 24, 2026, in which the woman alleged that her biological father had carnal knowledge of her.
He says preliminary investigations indicate that the alleged incidents occurred between July and September 2026, after which the victim left home and began living on the streets.
Mr Chilabi says officers from the Police Child Protection Unit, working with the victim’s family, later located her, while the Department of Social Welfare has been engaged to provide further support.
The suspect, whose age is yet to be established, was apprehended in Chazanga Compound on September 28 and remains in police custody as investigations continue.
