
Traditional leaders from Mafinga district have clarified that the visit by three traditional leaders to newly elected Member of Parliament Faith Munthali, who is admitted to Isoka District Hospital, should not be perceived as political.
Yesterday, his royal highnesses Chief, Muyombe, Chief Mweniwisi, and Chief Mwenechifungwe paid Mafinga South Member of Parliament Faith Munthali a visit at hospital were she is receiving treatment.
Speaking in an interview with Diamond TV, Chief Mweniwisi says the three chiefs learned of Ms. Munthali’s ill health and decided to visit her as a daughter of the soil.
The traditional leader stressed that Ms. Munthali needs support from both family and society.
He also says traditional leadership will not interfere with ongoing investigations on the lawmaker.
He says that the three chiefs believe that a problem in one chiefdom is a concern for them all, hence working together to address the matter.
And Chief Mweniwisi has urged losing candidates in the just-ended election to accept the will of the people and support the government of the day.
His royal Highness chief Muyombe has also added that the three chiefs have a duty and responaibility to show love, concern and support to one of their own.
