The Tonse Pamodzi Alliance has announced the death of its Lumezi North parliamentary candidate, Clement Mwale.
Alliance Eastern Province Chairperson Maxson Nkhoma confirmed the development in a statement
Mr Nkhoma said Mr Mwale died in the early hours of Thursday, 16 July 2026. He described the late Mr Mwale as a dedicated and hardworking member of the alliance whose death is a great loss to the people of Lumezi North and Eastern Province.
He said Mr Mwale previously served as Lumezi Council Chairperson from 2016 to 2021, during which he was recognised for his commitment to serving the community.
Mr Nkhoma further disclosed that the Tonse Pamodzi Alliance will formally notify the Returning Officer of the death of its parliamentary candidate in accordance with electoral procedures.
